Actual transcript of message left on my cell phone

(by my children at 7:30 p.m. while I was out and they were at home, ostensibly getting ready for bed)

Jo (aka Bossypants): Okay, now you can talk.

O: No, who was THAT talking?

Jo: That's just a girl. Now talk.

O: Hi. Hi Mommy.

Jo: Okay she's not going to be on there. You're leaving a message right now.

O: But I'm trying to tell you something. Why isn't she talking?

Jo: Excuse me for a minute. One second. [To O: She can't right now. She's busy with someone. You're leaving a message.]

O: I'm just leaving a message. Ummmm...

Jo: Put the phone to your mouth so she can hear you. Otherwise the only thing she's going to hear is [...]

O: I'm just leaving a message because I'm leaving a message and I don't want Daddy to be by me.

Jo: Ask her if she can come home and do something with you.

O: I'm just leaving a message. And now there's a message.

Jo: He just wanted to ask you if you can come home and do something with him. When you get home please wake him up and do something with him. Bye-bye!

That's priceless. I'd want to save it on my phone for whenever I need a laugh.

Haha!! Hilarious. I love it. Kids can get really wigged out by voice mail.

That is so unbelievably sweet and adorable and funny.

Can you save it somehow? That's hysterical.

Ha! I can't wait until my kids are a little older and do stuff like that. Can you somehow save that message so you can always listen to it?

That totally made my day. I want them to call my cell phone and leave me a message.

LOL! I hope you weren't in a meeting when you listened to the message, because I would have totally busted up.

So funny! "I'm just leaving a message." Your kids are so cute.

I got something like that not too long ago. Joe was picking Maggie up from school & he must have hit "redial" by accident. I have this 15 minute message about "how was your day? What's Mommy making for dinner? etc etc..." it was a cute little glimpse into their secret Daddy/Daughter time.

I still have it on the cell phone.

That's awesome! You have to find a way to save that, even if you just hold your phone next to a digital recorder.

So did you wake him up to do something?

Very adorable! My kids left a cute voicemail on my cellphone for my birthday last week. They said to check for a present under my pillow to find some 'bling'.

When I did I saw a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings my kids and hubby bought me from www.idonowidont.com which was really sweet.

I have no idea how they learned the word 'bling'!

Wonderful! My 2.5-year old kiddos think that whoever is on the phone can see whatever it is they're doing. (We are land-line free and both our smart phones have big, colorful displays. Looks like TV, right?) It's sweet to see them show grandpa their fave truck or show off latest map knowledge to grandma. ("That's India!") We play along. :) Not sure I'm looking forward to the day when they figure it all out. :)

Oh I am dying from the cuteness.

"I'm just leaving a message. And now there's a message."

Literal and adorable.
