Never ceasing to amuse

The way Opie loves the word huge and uses it to refer to whatever he's about to eat: "Awan huge!" as I pour cereal into his bowl; "Awan huge" as I pile turkey on his plate; "Awan huge" as I fill his cup with milk.

The way both kids are inordinately thrilled to spot their clothes among the laundry moving from washer to dryer or dryer to basket. It's as if they're reuniting with a long-lost friend. "Hey! I see my jeans!!" exclaims Jo. "Dat's my socks!" boasts Opie.

The way Opie has adopted the fake-kiss pucker. Last night the dog took a huge bite out of the tortilla Opie was holding. After Jeff and I had thoroughly scolded her for swiping, Opie looked at her and gave that little smooch, as if to say "It's OK. We're still friends."

Mine has the same thrill with the laundry - she helps me load the dryer, meaning I pull a sock out of the washer and hand it to her, she says "oh my sock!" and puts it in the dryer. Mind you, this takes FOREVER. But she's helping!

"Huge" is one of Q's favorites too, especially as he's stretching his mouth to fit around a piece of food and we're telling him to take bites instead.

I'm enjoying what I do right now and bonding with my son, but I have to say, I'll be so happy when the day comes that he has a personality and does fun things like that.
It's a pretty thankless job at this point.

yeah....enjoy that laundry thing because when they get little older they will walk right by as quickly as they can pretending not to see the laundry that their mom may or may not ask them to carry upstairs or even scarier fold it and put it away.
I guess they learn more & more from me everyday! heehee

How I wish I could see (and hear) him! And Jo too, naturally.

Ah, that's great!

LA Toddler has been using "In fact..." whenever she says anything these days.

In fact, I must say that a lot and don't even realize it.
