Three free hours today
To-do list goes on for miles
Maybe I’ll just blog
It's Haiku Friday again!
Now that school has started, my schedule has changed and I am giving myself Friday afternoons off from both work and kid care. That means they are on for freelance jobs, household stuff, and maybe once in a while even something fun. My plan for the next several weeks is to slowly, surely purge this house of about a metric ton of accumulated crap. I will pick one closet/storage area/black hole per Friday and devote an hour to clearing it out. Realizing I still had a 15-year-old dress in my closet was definitely a kick in the ass, as was the change in weather that arrived this week. This happens every time the seasons change: I feel like I have no idea how to dress. I need to reset my brain from "capris" to "jeans" and back again, to find the long-sleeved shirts that have been buried under the short-sleeved ones for four months. But since very few of my clothes would really pass the Clinton/Stacy/Tim Gunn test, I feel the need to start fresh.
Wish me luck -- and I am counting on you to hold me accountable to my goal. Stay tuned for photographic evidence!

Good luck, and I'm jealous of all that time to yourself!
My to-do list always ends up being scrapped for blogging, it seems.
i look forward to seeing what you find in the dungeon of clutter. :)
I did this a month or two ago and today I woke up and realized I have no long sleeve shirts! Uh oh! It's going to be a cold weekend!
Good luck! I have a similar goal -- I get tense thinking about all the clutter in each room. I hope that I can at least go through all the kids' clothes, and then perhaps my own.
Good luck with that - I long for that kind of time to myself...
wishing you more of the luck :)
It seems like I'm always cleaning out the crap from one room or one closet and then it's full again the next time it's on the rotation. Just once, I'd like something to stay clear of crap for more than three months. Oh, right, I've got three kids. Never mind.
Love the ku. Gotta do it next Friday!
Good luck! There's a couple charities around here looking for used toys, books and kids clothes so I'm really hoping to be able to give them some big donations in the next couple of weeks.
Yeay for some time to yourself.
And yes, I know what you mean when it comes to the chaging seasons and not knowing how to dress. :-)
I pretty much don't have a summer work wardrobe. Autumn just means that I keep wearing the same clothes but they look less out of place.
Good luck with the clean out!
