But never, not ever, in a bathroom

My nursing days ended--most likely for good--over a year ago, so I can't participate in today's Great Virtual Breast Fest (brainchild of the League of Maternal Justice). But if you can't see me nursing, perhaps some of these other absolutely beautiful babies and mamas?

I breastfed for a total of 32 months (holy cow) and guess what? I occasionally left my home, with my babies during that nearly three-year period. That means I have nursed:
  • on airplanes and in airports
  • on busses
  • in (parked) cars
  • in dozens of restaurants
  • in stores and shopping malls
  • in Central Park
  • in many other parks
  • in my boss's office (during a meeting)
  • in my own office (sometimes with baby, sometimes with pump)
  • at the hair salon and the dentist's
  • during a pelvic exam (I wish I were kidding)
  • at church
  • in front of my dad, my brother, my uncle, my brother-in-law, and my mother-in-law's "gentleman friend"

I only wish I had some photographic evidence to stick in Facebook's eye. Well, maybe not from that time during the pelvic.

Cheers to you! I don't have any photographic evidence either, but I have to admit that I actually did nurse in a bathroom. More than once.

Not this time though.

Yeah - maybe not from that time during the pelvic - yikes!

Very impressive. I can barely make small talk during gyno exams.
It's great to know that there are a lot of women out there who wear their breastfeeding badges proudly.

All my photos and old disks of digital stuff are packed away but I'm not sure I had much of me nursing.

That would require me to prompt my husband to get the camera and take a photo and I was probably busy and it NEVER freaking occurs to him (even if I prompt him in advance) (like 25 times on the way to the event) (or every morning over breakfast during vacation).

I did nurse during a dental visit. That was the worst. As in most difficult and uncomfortable.

Loved your list!

That's impressive... especially that pelvic exam.

My list is less impressive. I wish I could have nursed longer. I only lasted five months, but I really enjoyed it. It was such a special time for us.

But never, not ever in a bathroom! That sounds like the beginning of a great Dr. Seuss book on breastfeeding. I know he'd do it if he were alive. Bravo to you!

I couldn't breastfeed so I stole someone elses picture to swish around under facebooks nose.

They haven't banned me yet but I suspect it's only a matter of time.

I nursed in a bathroom once (defying the objections of everyone at the table who assured me they'd block all view). It wasn't very comfortable.

During a pelvic exam, though - that's a good one. Is there some kind of prize for that?

Good for you! Not in a bathroom ... can you imagine?
